We have a wonderful periodontist in the practice which performs all types of periodontal services from implants, to gum surgery, or osteosurgery, to tissue grafts for recession. Then a thing that we do with a lot of our cosmetic cases which is wonderful, where he's very talented, is cosmetic periodontal procedures from cosmetic gingivectomies, for instance, the common name is a gummy smile, where there's too much gum in the patients smile. He'll level off and scallop the gums up so they'll be nice and even to give a little more crown length to the tooth to make it more aesthetic. In some places where one tooth is high with the gum and one tooth is low with the gum, he'll balance it out, and it just makes a world of difference in the appearance of the case. That's one of the things we do well together as a team, where the patient will come in, I will prep the case, put the provisional temporary on which will look wonderful, and then he will do the surgery and align the gums to create just a beautiful smile. That's something cosmetically we do very well together.
