Missing teeth are a common problem for many patients, but losing your teeth doesn’t have to mean losing your smile or your ability to talk and chew. At our world-class Boston cosmetic dentistry center, we feature the latest dental technology for patients who have missing or damaged teeth, including several different types of custom dentures.

What Are Dentures?

Dentures are dental appliances for the replacement of teeth, and can be made in full or partial sets. Our high-quality dentures are available in natural-looking porcelain or plastic materials. Although the dentures of the past were primarily intended for chewing, our modern dentures are designed to be comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and fully functional.  Dentures also offer health benefits by supporting facial muscles and decreasing oral bone loss. At Dental Associates of New England, we have achieved excellent results for our denture patients.

Full Dentures

Patients who have lost some or many of their teeth should consider the advantages of full dentures. A full set of dentures consists of a top and bottom set of replacement teeth that are custom-crafted to your mouth to ensure a comfortable fit with minimal slipping. Our porcelain dentures are durable and natural in appearance, giving you confidence in your ability to smile, talk, and chew naturally.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures are ideal for patients who are missing most of their bottom teeth. This advanced treatment uses dental implant technology to restore the lower set of teeth for the strongest and longest lasting results available. Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically placed in the existing structures of the mouth and fuse with the jawbone over time for superior stability and strength. Our skilled dentists will then secure an aesthetically pleasing lower denture to the implants.

Partial Dentures

When patients are missing a few teeth, partial dentures can comfortably fill in the gaps. Partial dentures are versatile, and can be secured in the mouth using a patient’s existing teeth or metal clasps. A partial denture also prevents surrounding teeth from shifting out of position, which can lead to tissue loss, chewing problems, and other dental concerns.
